Position Overview 

Our Special Events and Fundraising volunteers are on the frontlines of this important work, helping us raise critical funds to ultimately extinguish arthritis. 

We host both major fundraising events and smaller community-based fundraising opportunities throughout the year. This page highlights our Community and Smaller-Scale Fundraising opportunities only—typically one-time or short-term opportunities that arise throughout the year and are open for you to apply to here. Major Events (such as Fashion on Fire, Fireball, All-In for Arthritis) each have their own dedicated application pages.

Time Commitment 

Shifts may vary depending on the event, but typically range from 4 to 8 hours, with some flexibility. 

Additional orientation and training will be provided prior to the event.

Bi-monthly Arthritis Line volunteer team meetings; occasional professional development sessions offered throughout the year

Monday: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Position Overview  

A peer-listener volunteer reaches out and connects directly with individuals across Canada that are going through a particularly challenging time with arthritis. This program provides an opportunity for individuals connecting to the Arthritis Line to then connect one-on-one with someone living with Osteoarthritis. This program is intended to provide an opportunity for brief peer conversations and is not meant to be an ongoing or long-term support. 

Time Commitment  

Volunteers are asked to commit to approximately 5 hours per month, consisting of brief weekly check-ins to monitor the peer-listener inbox and supporting around 2 scheduled shifts (to be determined with program staff and based on your availability) for 2-4 peer-listener calls 

We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months 

Occasional meetings, support sessions, and professional development sessions offered throughout the year

Support callers who may feel emotional, overwhelmed or fearful  

Provide information and support to people affected by arthritis

Dates : Les présentations ont lieu sur appel, selon les demandes des organisations. 

Durée des interventions : 10 à 30 minutes, incluantune période de questions. 

Lieu : En personne (province de Québec) et en virtuel. 

Disponibilité requise : En semaine, principalement en matinée ou en après-midi. Une confirmation rapide est nécessaire pour chaque intervention.

À propos du poste

Le ou la bénévole de la Ligne d’information sur l’arthrite répond aux questions reçues par notre système national d’information et de soutien sur l’arthrite. Il ou elle transmet des informations importantes et offre un soutien aux personnes touchées par l’arthrite partout au Canada.


Engagement demandé

S’engager à effectuer un quart de travail de 2 heures par semaine.

Engagement minimum de 6 mois.

Participer aux réunions d’équipe bimensuelles et, au besoin, à des sessions de perfectionnement professionnel tout au long de l’année.

Quarts disponibles (heure de HNE) – à partir du 9 février 2026

Lundi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 11 h, et entre 15 h et 17 h 

Mardi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 15 h  

Mercredi : À tout moment entre 15 h et 17 h  

Jeudi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 17 h  

Vendredi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 11 h, et entre 15 h et 17 h 


Responsabilités principales

Fournir des informations et du soutien aux personnes touchées par l’arthrite.

Répondre aux demandes par téléphone, courriel et/ou clavardage sur le site web.

Soutenir les appelants qui peuvent se sentir émotionnellement affectés, dépassés ou inquiets.

Orienter les appelants vers les outils et ressources en ligne de la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Diriger les appelants vers les ressources et soutiens locaux.

Informer les appelants des opportunités d’éducation offertes par la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Entrer et suivre les données relatives aux interactions et à la documentation.


Compétences et qualités recherchées

Passion pour aider les personnes touchées par l’arthrite et engagement à améliorer leur qualité de vie.

Volonté de suivre la formation nécessaire et d’apprendre sur l’arthrite et les ressources de la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Capacité à travailler efficacement à distance avec le personnel et les autres bénévoles.

Expérience de relation avec le public.

Compétences en résolution de problèmes et prise de décision.

Capacité à adapter le ton et la communication selon l’audience.

Expérience vécue ou connaissance de l’arthrite est un atout.

Confort avec les outils technologiques.

Connaissance des impacts de l’arthrite est un plus, mais non obligatoire.

Posséder un ordinateur personnel et pouvoir travailler à distance depuis chez soi. Une connexion Internet fiable et sécurisée est nécessaire pour des raisons de confidentialité.

Processus d’examen des candidatures 

En raison de la nature et de la structure de ce rôle, une vérification du casier judiciaire est requise avant qu’une personne bénévole puisse être acceptée dans le programme. Les frais liés à cette vérification pour le bénévolat avec notre organisation seront pris en charge par la Société de l’arthrite du Canada. 

Avoir eu des interactions avec le système judiciaire ne signifie pas automatiquement qu’il est impossible de faire du bénévolat avec nous — la Société de l’arthrite du Canada reconnaît que certaines personnes peuvent être surreprésentées dans les systèmes judiciaires en raison de leurs expériences de vie. Le ou la bénévole de la Ligne d’information sur l’arthrite répond aux questions reçues par notre système national d’information et de soutien sur l’arthrite. Il ou elle transmet des informations importantes et offre un soutien aux personnes touchées par l’arthrite partout au Canada.


Engagement demandé

S’engager à effectuer un quart de travail de 2 heures par semaine.

Engagement minimum de 6 mois.

Participer aux réunions d’équipe bimensuelles et, au besoin, à des sessions de perfectionnement professionnel tout au long de l’année.

Quarts disponibles (heure de HNE) – à partir du 9 février 2026

Lundi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 11 h, et entre 15 h et 17 h 

Mardi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 15 h

Responsabilités principales

Fournir des informations et du soutien aux personnes touchées par l’arthrite.

Répondre aux demandes par téléphone, courriel et/ou clavardage sur le site web.

Soutenir les appelants qui peuvent se sentir émotionnellement affectés, dépassés ou inquiets.

Orienter les appelants vers les outils et ressources en ligne de la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Diriger les appelants vers les ressources et soutiens locaux.

Informer les appelants des opportunités d’éducation offertes par la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Entrer et suivre les données relatives aux interactions et à la documentation.


Compétences et qualités recherchées

Passion pour aider les personnes touchées par l’arthrite et engagement à améliorer leur qualité de vie.

Volonté de suivre la formation nécessaire et d’apprendre sur l’arthrite et les ressources de la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Capacité à travailler efficacement à distance avec le personnel et les autres bénévoles.

Expérience de relation avec le public.

Position Overview  

As a Peer Support Group Facilitator, you, a person living with arthritis, will have the opportunity to lead virtual support sessions for individuals living with or impacted by arthritis. This role supports the Arthritis Connections - Aide entrAide program, where participants come together to learn, share, and connect over the impacts of arthritis on their lives. Your primary responsibility will be to host virtual peer support groups, welcome participants, facilitate conversations, provide opportunities for group members to connect, and maintain a safe, open dialogue within the group. This role is an excellent fit for someone who is comfortable with technology, public speaking, facilitation, and has a personal connection to arthritis.  


Time Commitment  

Approximately 1–1.5 hours per session  

At least one session per month  

Commitment to at least 6 months of service  

This is a flexible role with no fixed schedule. Volunteer engagement may vary depending on the needs of the Arthritis Connections program.
