Arthritis Line Volunteer 

Position Overview  

Arthritis Line volunteer answers inquiries received through our nationwide arthritis information and support system and actively communicates information and offers support to people affected by arthritis across Canada.   

Time Commitment  

Arthritis Line volunteers are asked to commit to one, 2-hour shift each week   

We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months    

Bi-monthly Arthritis Line volunteer team meetings; occasional professional development sessions offered throughout the year 
 

Available Shifts (Eastern Time), as of June 23, 2026

Tuesday: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Key Areas of Responsibility  

Provide information and support to people affected by arthritis   

Support inquiries via phone, email and/or website chat   

Support callers who may feel emotional, overwhelmed or fearful   

Direct callers to online tools and resources on the Arthritis Society Canada website   

Direct callers to local supports and resources   

Inform callers about upcoming education opportunities with Arthritis Society Canada   

Data entry related to interactions, tracking, and reporting/documentation  
 

Desired Skills & Attributes  

Passionate about, and committed to, bettering the lives of those affected by arthritis   

Willingness to undertake training appropriate to the role, and learn about arthritis and Arthritis Society Canada’s resources   

Ability to work effectively with staff and other volunteers remotely   

Experience working and interacting with people   

Effective problem solving and decision-making skills    

Ability to adjust tone and voice depending on audience    

Lived experience or knowledge of arthritis is an asset    

Comfort and experience working with technology    

Experience and knowledge related to the impacts of arthritis is an asset, but not required  

Must have access to a personal computer, reliable and secure internet, and be able to work remotely from home in a private location for confidentiality reasons

Porte-parole – PartenaireSanté 

Aperçu du rôle 

Le rôle de porte-parole pour la Société de l’arthrite du Canada auprès de PartenaireSantéestune occasion unique de partager votre expérience avec l’arthrite et de sensibiliser le public aux défis quotidiens liés à cette maladie. Nous recherchons des bénévoles engagés et à l’aise en communication pour témoigner et aider à faire comprendre que l’arthrite n’est pas une maladie banale ! 

En tant que porte-parole, vous participerez à des présentations auprès d’entreprises, d’organisations et d’institutions gouvernementales, en collaboration avec PartenaireSanté. 

Engagement requis 

Dates : Les présentations ont lieu sur appel, selon les demandes des organisations. 

Durée des interventions : 10 à 30 minutes, incluantune période de questions. 

Lieu : En personne (province de Québec) et en virtuel. 

Disponibilité requise : En semaine, principalement en matinée ou en après-midi. Une confirmation rapide est nécessaire pour chaque intervention. 

Une formation et un accompagnement sont offerts pour bien vous préparer à vos présentations. 

Principales responsabilités 

Partager votre témoignage personnel sur l’impact de l’arthrite au quotidien. 

Sensibiliser les participants aux réalités de la maladie et aux défis qu’elle représente. 

Répondre aux questions du public et favoriser une meilleure compréhension de l’arthrite. 

Représenter la Société de l’arthrite du Cabada de façon authentique et professionnelle. 

Compétences, qualités et exigences 

Expérience vécue avec l’arthrite et volonté de partager son histoire. 

Aisance à parler en public et capacité à captiver un auditoire. 

Intérêt pour la sensibilisation et l’éducation sur l’arthrite. 

Fiabilité et engagement à répondre rapidement aux demandes de témoignages. 

Êtreâgé(e) de 18 ans et plus. 

Accès à un ordinateur et à Internet pour les présentations virtuelles.

Ligne d’information sur l’arthrite

À propos du poste

Le ou la bénévole de la Ligne d’information sur l’arthrite répond aux questions reçues par notre système national d’information et de soutien sur l’arthrite. Il ou elle transmet des informations importantes et offre un soutien aux personnes touchées par l’arthrite partout au Canada.

Engagement demandé

S’engager à effectuer un quart de travail de 2 heures par semaine.

Engagement minimum de 6 mois.

Participer aux réunions d’équipe bimensuelles et, au besoin, à des sessions de perfectionnement professionnel tout au long de l’année.

Quarts disponibles (heure de HNE) – à partir du 9 février 2026

Lundi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 11 h, et entre 15 h et 17 h 

Mardi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 15 h  

Mercredi : À tout moment entre 15 h et 17 h  

Jeudi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 17 h  

Vendredi : À tout moment entre 9 h et 11 h, et entre 15 h et 17 h 

Responsabilités principales

Fournir des informations et du soutien aux personnes touchées par l’arthrite.

Répondre aux demandes par téléphone, courriel et/ou clavardage sur le site web.

Soutenir les appelants qui peuvent se sentir émotionnellement affectés, dépassés ou inquiets.

Orienter les appelants vers les outils et ressources en ligne de la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Diriger les appelants vers les ressources et soutiens locaux.

Informer les appelants des opportunités d’éducation offertes par la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Entrer et suivre les données relatives aux interactions et à la documentation.

Compétences et qualités recherchées

Passion pour aider les personnes touchées par l’arthrite et engagement à améliorer leur qualité de vie.

Volonté de suivre la formation nécessaire et d’apprendre sur l’arthrite et les ressources de la Société de l’arthrite Canada.

Capacité à travailler efficacement à distance avec le personnel et les autres bénévoles.

Expérience de relation avec le public.

Compétences en résolution de problèmes et prise de décision.

Capacité à adapter le ton et la communication selon l’audience.

Expérience vécue ou connaissance de l’arthrite est un atout.

Confort avec les outils technologiques.

Connaissance des impacts de l’arthrite est un plus, mais non obligatoire.

Posséder un ordinateur personnel et pouvoir travailler à distance depuis chez soi. Une connexion Internet fiable et sécurisée est nécessaire pour des raisons de confidentialité.

Processus d’examen des candidatures 

En raison de la nature et de la structure de ce rôle, une vérification du casier judiciaire est requise avant qu’une personne bénévole puisse être acceptée dans le programme. Les frais liés à cette vérification pour le bénévolat avec notre organisation seront pris en charge par la Société de l’arthrite du Canada.

Ce poste est à distance. Les bénévoles peuvent travailler depuis n’importe quel endroit disposant d’internet et d’un espace privé.

Online Peer Support Group Facilitator 

Position Overview  

As an Online Peer Support Group Facilitator, you, a person living with arthritis, will have the opportunity to lead virtual support sessions for individuals living with or impacted by arthritis. This role supports the Arthritis Connections (english) and the Aide entraide (french) program, where participants come together to learn, share, and connect over the impacts of arthritis on their lives. Your primary responsibility will be to host virtual peer support groups, welcome participants, facilitate conversations, provide opportunities for group members to connect, and maintain a safe, open dialogue within the group. This role is an excellent fit for someone who is comfortable with technology, public speaking, facilitation, and has a personal connection to arthritis.

Current Recruitement Needs

Arthritis Connections (English)

We are currently seeking one additional volunteer who is living with osteoarthritis and is available to facilitate either weekday mornings or evenings virtual support sessions.

Aide entraide (French)

We are currently seeking several French-speaking volunteers who are living with any type of arthritis and are available to facilitate weekday morning, afternoon, or evening virtual support sessions.

Time Commitment  

Approximately 1–1.5 hours per session  

At least one session per month  

Commitment to at least 6 months of service  

This is a flexible role with no fixed schedule. Volunteer engagement may vary depending on the needs of the Arthritis Connections program.  
 

Key Areas of Responsibility  

Facilitate virtual peer support groups for individuals living with or impacted by arthritis  

Welcome participants and create an inclusive, comfortable space for discussion  

Guide group conversations and encourage participants to share their experiences  

Ensure a supportive and respectful environment that fosters open and safe dialogue  

Provide information, resources, and emotional support when appropriate  

Collaborate with Arthritis Society Canada staff to enhance the effectiveness of support sessions  
 

Desired Skills & Attributes  

This role is intended for individuals living with arthritis. 

Passionate about supporting individuals affected by arthritis  

Comfortable with technology, public speaking, and virtual facilitation  

Strong communication and listening skills  

Ability to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment  

Personal connection to arthritis or experience with arthritis is an asset  

Experience with group facilitation is an asset

Advocacy

Position Overview

Advocacy volunteers are passionate voices for the six million people in Canada living with arthritis. These volunteers make their voices heard by campaigning for healthy public policy during federal and provincial elections, promoting arthritis initiatives through social media, writing letters to and meeting with elected officials, and participating in government consultations and other important advocacy calls to action.

Time Commitment

Advocacy volunteers typically contribute 1–2 hours per month 

This is a flexible role with no fixed schedule 

Volunteer engagement may vary depending on campaign needs throughout the year

Key Areas of Responsibility 

Work with Arthritis Society Canada to amplify strategic campaigns championing arthritis-related issues 

Use various online methods to reach elected officials, healthcare professionals, and the wider public 

Attend public events to advocate for people affected by arthritis 

Join local or national patient groups to further advocacy efforts 

Contribute to letter-writing campaigns, social media engagement, and government consultations 

Desired Skills & Attributes 

Passionate about improving the lives of those affected by arthritis 

Strong interest in public policy, health advocacy, or community engagement 

Comfortable using email and social media platforms to take action 

Good written and verbal communication skills 

Ability to work independently and respond to time-sensitive advocacy initiatives 

Lived experience with arthritis or connection to someone affected is an asset 

Availability & Working Environment 

Advocacy roles are available across Canada, at both local and national levels 

This is primarily a remote opportunity, with occasional in-person options available. Volunteers can participate from anywhere in Canada with reliable internet access.
